Patrick Quinton-Smith is the Founder and Head Coach of the business performance coaching consultancy The Gen Z Coach.
Many businesses claim that Gen Z are a problem. This just isn’t true. They represent a huge opportunity!
As The Gen Z Coach, Patrick helps businesses unlock the untapped potential of Gen Z to increase productivity, retention and engagement.
He does this by coaching Gen Z employees in group and 1-on-1 settings to create high-performing teams. He then supports senior leaders to understand and communicate with Gen Z on a deeper level so they can get the best out of them.
All of this bridges generational gaps and improves performance – helping businesses to grow.
Patrick is a living testament to the impact coaching can have! When his first employer (an international renewable energy supplier and fastest growing start-up in Europe with 1000 employees) invested in a coach for him, he went from genuinely about to quit, to staying another 3.5 years scaling a debt collection team of 15-240 people, increasing company revenue by £8.4M 1-year.
That’s not a bad return on investment!
This transformation inspired Patrick to provide the same transformation to other young people – helping them have greater success and happiness in the workplace.
This is why he is The Gen Z Coach and this is why he does what he does.
Patrick may look young but he’s an incredible coach! He is a certified leadership trainer and holds an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Not only is his ACC, ICF credential equivalent to the ILM Level 7 but it is complemented by certificates in transformational coaching, team dynamics, and career coaching. He also has a proven track record as a business coach, successfully leading teams and coaching 200+ Gen Zers for performance, mental health, productivity and engagement.
Patrick may not have worked at McKinsey for 20 years, but the fact that he is Gen Z (27 years old) means he can empathise with the challenges Gen Z faces, as he has been through them himself and come out the other side. He can empathise, understand and communicate with your Gen Z talent in a way other generations cannot.
This is why his coaching is so effective.
Patrick understands the fears of business owners and senior leaders! Watching his dad run his own successful business, he remembers his dad waking up in the middle of the night in sweats to run 10km to relieve himself of the stress. He is, therefore, passionate about helping businesses and young people thrive together.
Patrick prioritises understanding others whilst challenging himself to step outside of your comfort zone to grow. These are the core values that he relentlessly pursues – believing they are critical to success in personal and professional life.
Patrick is passionate about developing future leaders. Through improved communication, resilience, leadership, and understanding, he believes people can live better lives and create a better world. To Patrick, this is what it’s all about.
Outside of work, Patrick cares about sport, family & food. Being the youngest of 5 siblings, his wider family continues to grow with multiple nieces and nephews which he cares for deeply. Passionate about fitness, Patrick enjoys walking, running, cycling, cricket, paddle weightlifting and swimming. He’s also a passionate cook who loves trying and cooking new cuisines and sharing them with friends.
